Strawberries

McLean Farms grows around 2 acres of strawberries annually. Strawberry planting begins in the fall and the plants grow throughout the winter months and early spring. In season berries are usually ready by mid to late April depending on the freezing season that usually occurs in March.

McLean Farms grows three types of berries Chandler, Camarosa and Sweet Charlies.  Sweet Charlies are often “early berries” and they are sweet & small. Chandlers and Camarosas are often best during the peak of berry season, which usually falls around the first and second week of May. These berries are usually average size to large and are very juicy when they have been exposed to the warmth of sun.

Our fields are available for “you-pick” and pre-picked buckets & quarts.
